Why is it that Communists pretend they’re not?
A fine example of this being the huge signs that began to appear in my area over the past couple of weeks, just prior to Election Day. These signs read: Good Neighbors Feed Kids Fix Roads.
Leaving out the force part.
Note that. Also the wheedling attempt to make you feel bad for not wanting to be forced. You are not a “good neighbor” if you oppose forcing other people to feed someone else’s kids. And to be forced to pay more money for “fixing roads” – never mind that everyone who uses the roads already pays for them – via motor fuels taxes – that no one is forced to pay because you do not have to own/drive a vehicle. You pay the tax if you choose to buy gas for your vehicle.
Communism would not be objectionable if it weren’t forced on people who want nothing to do with it. If a group of people wish to live as communists, among themselves, who on the outside could object? So long as it’s all voluntary and no one is forced to be a Communist.
Put another way, it is very neighborly to agree to lend your neighbor a tool. But that is not the kind of “neighborliness” the Communists mean. They mean to take the tool – and everything else.
See the difference?
It is an interesting thing that Communists feel obliged to pretend they are neighborly when they are the antithesis of neighborly. It is a confession by these Communists; they know what they espouse is despicable and indefensible but they will not acknowledge what makes it despicable.
And that is why Communists are so despicable.
It is their mewly, smarmy dishonesty that grates. Their treacly Kumbaya-around-the-campfire pretending. “We’re all in this together.” Remember? No, we’re all being forced to endure this, together.
See the difference?
It is not a free-will choosing thing. That is to say, an admirable thing. As opposed to the utterly loathsome thing of taking away free choice using force.
Good neighbors do feed their kids. And – sometimes – it’s neighborly to help them. But that is not the same thing as feeding the power of Communists to determine who gets fed – and who will pay for it. People in the neighborhood see that one of their neighbors – whom they know – has fallen on hard times. Being good neighbors, they do what they can to help. They bring over food. Maybe the help in other ways. But they do it because they choose to, which they do because they want to. And – this is important – because they know that they have the power to choose not to. This serves as a check on the kind of legalized parasitism that “neighborly” Communists want.
If the good neighbors discover their neighbor is a lout who won’t work, they can withhold the help he does not deserve. This serves as an inducement to him helping himself. Communists help themselves to your money, which they dispense it as they see fit – including most of all to themselves. Note that Communist leaders rarely need help, themselves – having helped themselves to as much as they like of what others are forced to hand over to them.
If Communism is as Kumbaya as Communists like to pretend it is, why aren’t Communists willing to defend it – openly – for what it is? Marx – the founder of Communism – was among the most despicable people to ever walk on two legs. But he was at least honest about Communism. Credit where credit is due. He urged:
Abolition of Property in Land and Application of all Rents of Land to Public Purpose.
This is what Communists call “property taxes” serve to do – and fund. You do not own property that you must rent forever. And that is exactly what Communists have imposed.
A Heavy Progressive or Graduated Income Tax.
It speaks for itself.
Abolition of All Rights of Inheritance.
See the first two points, which are effectively accomplishing this by greatly reducing the ability of most people to accumulate wealth and thus have anything left at the end of their lives to pass on as an inheritance.
Confiscation of the Property of All Emigrants and Rebels.
California – perhaps the most Communist state of the bunch – taxes emigrants. The federal government says you “owe” it money if you try to leave the United States.
Centralization of Credit in the Hands of the State, by Means of a National Bank with State Capital and an Exclusive Monopoly.
Done by Communists when the Federal Reserve – which is as “federal” as Rachel Levine is female – was imposed more than 100 years ago.
Centralization of the Means of Communication and Transport in the Hands of the State.
Both well under way – with more to come, if the Communists win on Election Day. Facebook, Google and “X” are effectively under Communist control and private vehicles are very close to being entirely under the control of the Communists who control the federal regulatory apparat. They say it is for “safety” and “the environment,” of course. Because – unlike Marx – they know Communism isn’t appealing or defensible when openly discussed.
Extension of Factories and Instruments of Production Owned by the State, the Bringing Into Cultivation of Waste Lands, and the Improvement of the Soil Generally in Accordance with a Common Plan.
Communists always have plans – and their plans always rely on force. The Green New Deal is very red.
Equal Liability of All to Labor. Establishment of Industrial Armies, Especially for Agriculture.
This has not yet happened. But only because Communists know if they openly advocated it, most people would recoil from it. But it is implicit in slavery – when people are – and so we are in everything but name.
Combination of Agriculture with Manufacturing Industries; Gradual Abolition of the Distinction Between Town and Country by a More Equable Distribution of the Population over the Country.
They are quietly talking about this – and even saying the quiet part out loud. “15 Minute cities” and the nudging of people into them from the country. “Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing,” if you haven’t heard. The deliberate flooding of the country with entire populations of foreign people; the exporting of the urban poor to the rural parts, so as to replicate the urban hives that Communists favor everywhere.
Free Education for All Children in Public Schools. Abolition of Children’s Factory Labor in its Present Form. Combination of Education with Industrial Production.
It has already been done, son. Only it isn’t free when everyone is forced to pay for it. And – rather than child labor – child slavery. For 12 years in those “free” government (they are not public) schools.
This is a longer-form iteration of the “neighborliness” of latter-day Communists such as the people who posted that sign in their yard. They feel righteous posting it, too. Either because they do not understand it. Or – worse – because they do.
And haven’t got the decency of Marx to make it plain that they do.
